【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=청주시의회 도시농업 활성화 연구회(대표의원 박근영)는 5월 9일 청주시 생명누리공원에서 개막한 ‘2025 청주 가드닝 페스티벌’에 참석했다.

올해로 5회째를 맞는 이번 가드닝 페스티벌은 ‘얼수(水) 좋다! 다 같이 놀자! 씨앗 정원으로’를 주제로, 정원문화 확산과 시민 힐링을 위한 다양한 프로그램으로 마련됐다. 

영국 첼시플라워쇼에서 세 차례 금메달을 수상한 황지해 작가를 비롯해 시민, 학생, 기업이 참여한 26개의 정원 전시와 정원 만들기 교육, 가드닝 클래스, 정원 꾸미기 상담 등 다채로운 체험과 교육 프로그램이 진행된다. 또한, 박혜원, KCM 등 인기 가수와 청주시립무용단·합창단의 공연, 버블쇼, 마술쇼 등 풍성한 문화예술 공연도 펼쳐진다.

박근영 대표의원은 “정원과 가드닝 문화는 도시민의 삶의 질을 높이고, 지속가능한 도시환경 조성에 중요한 역할을 한다”며, “앞으로도 연구회 차원에서 도시농업과 정원문화 활성화를 위한 정책 연구와 지원에 힘쓰겠다”고 밝혔다.

한편, 이번 페스티벌은 청주시와 청주시농업기술센터가 주최하며, 행사 기간 동안 무료 입장과 다양한 전시·체험 프로그램으로 시민 누구나 참여할 수 있다.
