【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=이광희 국회의원(더불어민주당 청주서원)은 9일 오전, (사)한국노숙인복지시설협회와 청주 성덕원에서 간담회를 진행했다.

 이광희 의원실은 노숙인 보호시설을 방문하여 현장을 점검하고 실질적인 제도 개선 방안을 논의하기 위해 이번 자리를 마련했다고 간담회 취지를 설명했다.

 이 의원은 “오늘 간담회에서 노숙인의 인간다운 생활을 할 권리를 보호하고 재활 및 자립을 위한 방안을 고민하고자 한다”며 “노숙인뿐만 아니라 기관 종사자들의 열악한 처우개선도 함께 모색하는 자리가 되길 바란다”고 밝혔다.

 (사)한국노숙인복지시설협회는 “국가와 지방자치단체는 노숙인의 권익을 보장하고 사회 복귀를 지원해야 하지만 노숙인재활·요양시설이 지방사무로 이관되어 실질적인 지원에 한계가 있다”고 어려운 상황을 호소했다. 이러한 상황을 해결하기 위해 △노숙인재활 및 요양시설 국고지원시설 전환 △노숙인재활·요양시설 관리운영비 지원 기준 개선 △노숙인재활·요양시설 직원 배치 기준 개선 등을 요청했다.

 이에 이광희 의원은 “같은 장애인, 아동, 노인이라도 앞에 ‘노숙인’이 붙으면 차별과 무관심이 현실화되는 것 같다”며 “시설에서조차 ‘노숙인시설’에 대해서는 차별이 있다. ‘노숙인’도 대한국인으로서 기본적인 인권과 다른 권리를 누릴 수 있도록 애로사항들을 당에 전달하고 시설 종사자들과 지속적인 소통과 실질적 협력을 강화하겠다”고 밝혔다.
