【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=청주시는 행정안전부 주관 ‘2025년 고향올래(GO鄕ALL來)’ 공모사업에 상당구 미원별빛자연휴양림이 최종 선정됐다고 9일 밝혔다.

고향올래는 인구가 감소하는 지역의 특성과 자원을 활용해 체류형 생활 인구를 유입시키고 지역 경제 활력을 높이고자 행정안전부가 2023년부터 시행 중인 사업이다. 

행안부는 올해 초 사업을 신청한 41개 지자체를 대상으로 민간 전문가와 중앙부처 실무자로 구성된 심사위원단 심사를 거쳐 12개 지자체를 최종 선발했다. 이 중 청주시는 ‘일(work)과 휴식(vacation)’을 동시에 즐기는‘워케이션’ 분야에서 선정됐다.

시는 이번 공모로 확보한 특별교부세 9억원을 포함해 총사업비 18억원을 들여 내년 6월까지 미원별빛자연휴양림 기존 건물을 리모델링할 계획이다.

기존 건물 2개 동을 재단장해 오픈 카페, 영상회의실, 휴게실과 공용 및 개인사무공간 등을 조성함으로써 해 일, 숙박, 휴식, 관광이 모두 가능한 워케이션 환경을 제공한다는 방침이다.

풍연숙 시 공원산림본부장은 “청주시가 고향올래 공모사업에 선정된 것은 굉장히 의미 있는 성과”라며 “내년 상반기까지 미원별빛자연휴양림 워케이션 센터를 조성해 매력적인 숙소는 물론 편리한 오피스 환경, 지역연계 프로그램 운영 등 차별화된 콘텐츠를 제공하겠다”고 말했다.
