【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=음성군이 반려견 등록이나 변경신고를 하지 않은 보호자들이 과태료를 부과받지 않고 신고할 수 있도록 ‘자진신고 기간’을 운영한다.

군은 오는 6월 30일까지 ‘2025년 1차 동물등록 자진신고 기간’을 운영한다고 8일 밝혔다.

동물등록은 주택이나 준주택에서 기르는 2개월령 이상의 반려견이 의무 대상이다.

등록하지 않으면 최대 60만 원, 등록정보 변경 미신고 시에는 최대 40만 원의 과태료가 부과되지만, 자진신고 기간에는 과태료가 면제된다.

과태료는 적발 횟수에 따라 단계적으로 증가한다. 미등록 시 1차 20만 원에서 3차 60만 원까지, 변경사항 미신고 시에는 1차 10만 원에서 3차 40만 원까지 부과된다.

반려견 등록은 지정된 동물병원에서 가능하며, 변경사항 신고는 온라인 또는 관할 읍면 사무소 방문을 통해 할 수 있다.

군은 자진신고 기간 종료 후 7월 한 달 동안 공원, 산책길 등에서 집중단속을 실시할 예정이다.

군 관계자는 “동물등록은 법적 의무이자 성숙한 반려문화의 첫걸음”이라며 군민들의 적극적인 참여를 당부했다.
