【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=충북도의회(의장 이양섭)는 7일 충주 소재 국원고등학교 학생들을 대상으로 2025년 ‘찾아가는 의회교실’의 첫 문을 열었다. 

‘찾아가는 의회교실’은 도의원이 직접 도내 초·중·고등학교를 찾아가 도의회의 역할과 기능을 소개하고, 학생들과 질의응답을 나누는 프로그램이다.

이날 의회교실에는 산업경제위원회 소속 이종갑 의원(충주3)이 참석해 국원고등학교 학생 30여 명을 대상으로 조례 제정 및 개정, 예산·결산 심의, 행정사무감사 등 도의회의 기능을 설명했다.

이어진 질의응답 시간에는 현재 추진 중인 도내 학생들을 위한 충청북도 정책을 소개하며 내신성적 5등급제 변경으로 학생들이 겪고 있는 혼란을 해결하기 위한 정책에는 무엇이 있는지 등에 대한 국원고 학생들의 질문이 있었다.

이에 대해 이 의원은 학생들에게 도움이 될 만한 충청북도의 정책과 조례를 설명하면서 “학생들이 더 나은 환경에서 공부하고, 꿈을 키우며 건강하고 행복하게 성장할 수 있도록 끊임없이 고민하고 노력하겠다”고 말했다.

충북도의회는 도내 청소년을 대상으로 본회의장에서 모의의회를 체험하는 ‘청소년 의회교실’을 비롯해 현장소통 중심의 ‘찾아가는 의회교실’, 주제를 놓고 본회의장에서 자유스피치 하는 ‘청소년 스피치왕 선발대회’와 함께 일반인 등을 대상으로 한 의정 체험 프로그램인 ‘본회의 체험교실’을 운영하고 있다.
