【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=단양군은 자연 속에서 건강과 힐링을 동시에 즐길 수 있는 ‘제19회 2025 단양팔경 걷기 및 마라톤대회’를 지난 20일 단양강 달맞이길 일원에서 성황리에 개최했다.

이번 대회는 단양군육상연맹이 주관하고 단양군이 후원한 행사로, 올해로 19회를 맞아 전국 각지에서 2,400여 명이 참가하며 큰 호응을 얻었다.

종목은 3km 걷기와 5km, 10km, 하프코스로 구성되어 있어 남녀노소 누구나 자신의 체력에 맞춰 참여할 수 있도록 했다.

대회 코스는 지난해와 동일하게 단양강변의 아름다운 풍광을 따라 운영됐다. 

단양생태체육공원을 출발한 3km 걷기 코스는 고수대교까지, 5km 코스는 양백폭포 인근, 10km 코스는 장미터널 입구(상진) 건너편 달맞이길까지 이어졌다.

하프코스는 시루섬과 하현천삼거리를 반환점으로 삼아 출발지로 돌아오는 코스로 구성되어, 참가자들은 달리는 내내 단양의 대표 절경을 만끽할 수 있었다.

군은 지난 3월 ‘2025 경기수원국제하프마라톤대회’에서 소속 선수 이준수가 하프코스 개인전 3위를 차지하며 신생팀의 저력을 과시한 바 있다. 

단체전에서도 3시간 30분 43초의 기록으로 2위를 차지하며 경쟁력을 입증했다.

이와 더불어 지난 1일부터 3일까지 열린 김해 KTFL 전국실업육상경기대회에서는 김용수 선수가 1,500m에서 2위, 이준수 선수가 10,000m에서 개인 최고 기록을 경신하며 역시 2위를 기록, 전국 무대에서도 단양 육상의 위상을 높였다.

군 관계자는 “올해 대회는 더욱 철저하게 준비해 참가자 모두가 만족할 수 있는 마라톤 축제로 치러졌다”며 “앞으로도 육상팀을 중심으로 단양군이 명실상부한 육상 중심 도시로 성장할 수 있도록 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”고 말했다.
