【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=충주시는 택견 비보잉팀 트레블러 크루(대표 이상민)의 택볼레이션(Taekvoulution)의 작품 ‘비천(飛天)’이 오는 4월 23일 ‘충주의 날’ 식전공연에서 첫선을 보인다고 21일 밝혔다.

‘비천’은 국가무형유산인 택견의 전통성과 비보잉의 역동성, 여기에 마셜아츠의 에너지를 결합한 신개념 공연으로, 브라질 전통 무예 ‘카포에라’를 떠올리게 하는 창작 안무가 특징이다.

이번 작품은 시의 지원으로 시립택견원(원장 부시장)과 트레블러크루가 공동 제작했으며, 젊은 세대를 겨냥해 택견과 비보이의 경연 중심과 트릭킹을 합친 공연 콘텐츠다.

특히 이번 안무는 이상민 대표와 시립택견원 이주빈 단원이 의기투합해 택견과 비보잉의 정체성을 살리면서 작품성과 대중성을 모두 갖추도록 구성됐다.

음원 제작은 브레이킹‧국악‧힙합‧융복합 장르 등 다양한 음악가들과 협업으로 제작됐으며. ‘2023 청년예술가 S’로 선정된 얼터너티브(Alternative) 음악가 함승철이 작곡하며 음악적 완성도를 더했다.

해당 작품은 앞으로 지역 공연이나 우륵문화제, 다이브인 페스티벌 등 축제와 문화유산 야행에서 새로운 볼거리를 제공할 계획이다.

충주의 날에는 총 16명의 택견 비보이 출연진이 펼치는 웅장하고 화려한 군무가 펼쳐질 예정이며, 이어서 5월 3일 충주시 어린이날 행사에서도 공연을 선보인다.

이상민 대표는 “이번 작품은 이전 작품인‘천무’보다 택견과 비보잉 각자의 장점을 잘 살린 작품으로, 대중성과 역동성을 살리는 것에 많은 중점을 두었다”라며, “다가오는 4월 23일 충주의 날 행사에 첫 초연인 만큼 많은 분이 응원해 주셨으면 좋겠다”라고 말했다.

시립택견단 이주빈 단원은 “이번 작품은 총체극에 치중했으며, 다음 작품 ‘무영(武影)’은 스토리텔링이 나올 수 있도록 이상민 대표와 협업해 열심히 준비하겠다”고 말했다.

시 관계자는 “국가 무형유산인 택견을 활용하면서 대중성과 현대화를 함께 담아내고자 이번 작품을 기획하게 됐다”라며 “앞으로도 시립택견원 초청공연에 택볼레이션을 적극 활용하겠다”라고 밝혔다.

한편, 트레블러 크루는 택견, 국악, 무예 등 전통 장르와의 융합 공연을 선도하는 충북 대표 비보잉팀으로, 지난해 ‘문화유산 야행’에서 충주의 역사적 명소를 무대로 한 비보잉 영상 콘텐츠를 재능기부하며 지역 문화유산 알리기에도 앞장서고 있다.
