이번 지원은 급성 심장질환 환자에게 신속하고 효과적인 응급처치를 제공하고 아파트 단지 내에서 발생할 수 있는 심정지 상황에 대비해 주민들의 안전을 강화하는 취지에서 마련됐다.

군은 장비 지원과 더불어 원활한 장비 사용과 응급처치를 위해 관리 책임자와 주민을 대상으로 자동심장충격기 사용법 및 심폐소생술 등 응급처치 교육도 함께 진행할 예정이다.

군 보건소 관계자는 “자동심장충격기는 심정지 발생 시 4분 이내에 사용하면 생존율을 크게 높일 수 있는 응급 장비”라며 “앞으로 400세대 이하 공동주택에도 지원 대상을 점진적으로 확대해 나가겠다. 이번 지원을 통해 주민들이 더욱 안전한 환경에서 생활할 수 있기를 바란다”고 말했다.
