  이렇게 두 달이라는 짧은 시간 안에 많은 모금액을 달성할 수 있었던 것은 충북도청 고향사랑기부제팀 직원들이 직접 도내·외 기관을 찾아 현장 홍보 활동을 적극적으로 펼쳤기 때문이다. 

  2월 한 달간 국립과학수사연구원을 시작으로, 오송첨단의료산업진흥재단, 국민연금공단 대전세종지역본부, 통계청, 한국보훈복지의료공단, 한국도로교통공단 등 6개 기관을 찾아 직접 발로 뛰는 홍보를 통해 전체 모금액의 약 50%인 5천만 원가량의 많은 소액 기부를 이끌어냈다.

  또한 선진그룹 박성수 회장의 2,000만 원 고액 기부를 유치하는 등 고액 기부자 모금에도 적극적인 노력을 기울였다.
