충주시는 지난해 토목, 건축, 전기, 기계 등 분야별 8명의 전문인력으로 구성한 ‘계약심사 T/F팀’을 운영해 총 169건, 521억 원의 심사요청을 처리했다.

시는 이를 통해 17억 원(절감률 3.24%)의 예산을 절감했다.

이 같은 성과를 바탕으로 충주시는 2024년도 충청북도 시군 계약심사 운영평가에서 우수 시군으로 선정되며, 효율적인 예산 관리 능력을 인정받았다.

김주상 충주시 회계과장은 “계약심사 업무를 강화해 예산 절감 효과를 거둔 것은 물론, 설계단계부터 철저히 검토해 부실 공사를 예방할 수 있었다.”라며, “앞으로도 꼼꼼한 계약심사를 통해 시민들의 세금을 지키고 재정 효율성을 높이겠다”라고 말했다.

충주시는 절감된 예산을 2025년 다양한 사업에 재투자해 시민들께 환원할 계획이다.
