【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=충주시농업기술센터(소장 장정희)가 복숭아 재배 농가의 관행적인 정지 전정 방식을 개선하기 위해 오는 20일부터 2월 21일까지 정지 전정 현장 교육을 추진한다.

이번 교육은 작목회(반) 단위로 실시되며, 신청한 작목반 회원의 과원에서 정지 전정 이론 및 실습교육과 세력 관리 기술교육을 병행해 진행한다.

교육 신청은 1월 13일부터 2월 14일까지 충주시 농업기술센터 과수육성과 복숭아팀을 통해 가능하다.

현재 많은 복숭아 재배 농가가 겨울철 전정 시 과도하게 전정을 시행해 나무의 세력이 불안정해지고, 생육기에는 불필요한 가지의 발생으로 인해 당도 하락, 낙과, 병해충 다발생 등의 문제를 겪고 있다.

또한 정지 전정 기술이 부족한 농가는 위탁 전정으로 인해 과도한 생산비가 발생하며, 관행적인 방식으로 인한 관리의 어려움이 지속되고 있어 체계적인 교육이 필요성이 높아지고 있다.

시는 이번 교육을 통해 복숭아 재배 농가의 생산성을 높이고, 안정적인 농업 환경을 조성하는 데 실질적인 도움이 될 것으로 기대한다.

농업기술센터 관계자는 “올해 첫 영농 작업인 정지 전정부터 올바르게 시작해야 고품질 복숭아를 안정적으로 생산할 수 있다”라며, 농가의 적극적인 교육 참여를 당부했다.
