【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=청주시는 올해 1월부터 ‘청년월세 한시 특별지원(2차)’ 사업 지원횟수를 기존 12회에서 24회로 확대해 시행한다고 10일 밝혔다. 

청년월세 한시 특별지원사업은 국토교통부 주관으로 저소득 청년에게 월 20만원 한도에서 임차료를 지원하는 사업이다.

1차 사업은 2022년 8월 시행돼 2024년 12월까지 지원금 지급이 완료됐으며, 2차 사업은 2024년 2월부터 올해 2월 25일까지 신청을 접수한다. 2차 사업 지원금 지급 기간은 2027년 12월까지다.

이번 확대 시행으로 저소득 청년들은 1, 2차 사업 구분 없이 인당 최대 24개월을 지원받을 수 있게 된다. 

지원대상은 19~34세 이하의 부모와 별도 거주하면서, 주택 청약 통장에 가입한 청년이다. 소득 및 재산 기준은 △원가구 기준 중위소득 100% 이하, 청년가구 60% 이하 △원가구 재산 4억7천만원, 청년가구 1억2천200만원 이하의 요건을 충족해야 한다.

지원을 희망하는 청년은 ‘복지로’ 홈페이지 또는 주민등록상 거주지 관할 행정복지센터에 방문해 신청하면 된다. 선정될 경우 신청한 날이 속한 달부터 소급 지원된다.

시 관계자는 “이번 사업을 통해 경제적 어려움을 겪는 청년층의 주거비 부담이 경감되기를 바란다”며 “청년들이 적기에 지원받을 수 있도록 지역주민의 많은 관심과 참여를 부탁드린다”고 말했다.
