【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=보은군은 2025년 동절기 전지훈련 시즌을 맞아 많은 선수들의 발길이 스포츠의 메카 보은군으로 이어져 스포츠 열기로 가득 차고 있다고 9일 밝혔다. 

군에 따르면 보은스포츠파크 내 야구장, 씨름연습장, 웨이트장, 전천후 보조 육상 경기장 등 우수한 체육시설과 전국에서 2시간 이내에 접근할 수 있는 지리적 여건 덕분에 많은 전지훈련팀들이 동·하계를 막론하고 보은군을 방문하고 있다. 

지난해 12월 제주국제대 야구팀의 전지훈련을 시작으로, 한일장신대, 영선고, 청담고, 대전제일고, 소래중 등 6개 야구팀이 보은스포츠파크 야구장과 실내 야구장 등에서 동계 전지훈련을 진행 중이다. 

이와 함께 8일부터 영동초, 부곡중, 동광중 등 3개 육상팀과 운호고, 여수공고, 반여고 등 8개 학교 씨름 선수단도 속리산 및 스포츠파크 일원에서 전지훈련에 돌입해 구슬땀을 흘리고 있다. 

오는 12일부터는 외산중, 소양초, 중앙초, 강호 유소년 야구단 등 4개 야구팀이 보은군을 방문해 전지훈련을 진행할 예정이다.

2월에도 전지훈련팀들의 보은군 방문이 계속된다. 안양FC, 강원FC 남자축구 프로팀과 수원FC위민을 비롯해 경주한수원, 대구하이두 축구팀이 전지훈련을 진행할 예정이며 소양초, 중앙초 야구팀은 1월에 다시 한 번 방문할 계획이다. 

이병길 군 스포츠산업과장은 “동계 전지훈련을 위해 많은 팀들이 방문하는 등 스포츠 강군 보은군의 브랜드가 나날이 높아지고 있다”며, “지속적인 전지훈련팀 유치와 일회성이 아닌 매년 동·하계로 전지훈련 선수들이 재방문할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
