【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=옥천군 농업기술센터(소장 이현철)는 24년도 기본직접지불금(이하 공익직불금) 지급대상자를 대상으로 화학 비료사용 준수 기준 점검을 완료하였다고 9일 밝혔다.

공익직불금을 받는 441명을 전수 점검한 결과 모든 농가에서 적합한 화학비료를 사용한 것으로 나타났다.

화학비료 사용 점검은 매년 관련법에 따라 유기물, 인산, 칼륨 등과 농지의 산성도를 측정하여 적합여부를 관련기관에 통보하게 되어있다.

부적합 판정을 받은 농가는 연차별로 직불금 지급액이 줄어든다. 다행히 옥천군 농지는 취지에 맞게 화학비료를 적절하게 사용하고 있어 생태계 보전, 식량의 안정적 공급면에서 농지를 잘 활용하고 있는 것으로 나타났다.

농업기술센터 관계자는 “화학비료의 남용을 막고 농업인에게 실질적인 도움이 될 수 있도록 직불금 대상자 및 일반 농가에게 지속적으로 농지 토양분석을 지도 할 예정이다.”라고 말했다.
