 이번 축제 기간 동안 곶감 및 농·특산물 판매액은 약 6억 9천만원에 달하며, 지역 농가와 상인들에게 따뜻한 새해 선물이 됐다.

 판매액은 지난해 대비 19% 정도 감소(지난해 8억 6천여만원)한 것으로, 군은 올해 곶감 가격을 지난해 대비 20% 인하해 판매한 것과 축소 운영에 따른 방문객 감소가 영향이 있는 것으로 보고 있다.

 이번 축제는 최근 발생한 무안공항 사고를 애도하며 피해자와 유가족에 대한 위로의 뜻을 담아 무대 공연과 대규모 행사를 취소하고 축소 운영됐다. 축소된 운영 속에서도 방문객들은 △곶감 디저트 만들기 △빙어잡기 △군밤·군고구마 체험 등 다양한 프로그램에 참여하며 영동의 따뜻한 정과 겨울의 매력을 느낄 수 있었다.

 이외에도 청년상인회의 먹거리존과 새마을부녀회에서 준비한 전통 음식은 방문객들에게 맛과 정을 선사했으며, 곶감 나눔 행사와 전시관 운영은 영동 곶감의 우수성을 알리는 데 큰 역할을 했다.

 영동축제관광재단 관계자는 “이번 축제는 어려운 상황 속에서도 방문객들의 성원과 지역 주민들의 협조로 성공적으로 마무리될 수 있었다”며 “앞으로도 영동의 전통과 매력을 알리는 다양한 축제를 준비하겠다”고 전했다.
