이번 행사는 어르신을 위한 후원을 매년 하는 ㈜영우자원에게 감사패를 전달하고, 노인복지관 3개소(본관, 남부분관, 동부분관)의 우수 자원봉사자에게 감사장을 수여했다. 

이어 그간의 활동과 성과를 담은 영상을 시청하고, 영화‘파일럿’을 관람하며 후원자와 자원봉사자에게 힐링의 시간을 선사했다.

행사에 참여한 한 자원봉사자는“처음 어르신들을 위한 작은 행동으로 시작한 봉사가 이렇게 큰 보람으로 돌아올 줄 몰랐다”라며“앞으로도 나눔을 통해 어르신들에게 더 많은 기쁨을 드리고 싶다”고 말했다.

김웅 관장은“후원자와 자원봉사자의 따뜻한 손길 하나하나가 지역사회를 더욱 밝고 따뜻하게 한다”라며 “후원자와 자원봉사자의 노고에 다시 한번 감사드리며, 앞으로도 어르신이 행복한 충주시를 만드는 데 최선을 다하겠다”고 전했다.
