【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=충북경찰청(청장 정상진) 여성청소년과는 지난 16일 괴산 중원대학교 경찰행정학과 대학생 40여명을 대상으로 스토킹·교제폭력 범죄 예방 교육을 실시했다.

이 날 교육에서는 스토킹 및 교제폭력 범죄에 대한 이해도를 높이고 범죄예방 공감대를 형성하기 위해 경찰의 스토킹 대응 절차 범죄피해자 지원 제도, 주요 사례,  강력범죄화 예방을 위한 신고의 필요성 등을 위주로 교육했다.

스토킹 112신고 연도별 통계를 보면, 21년 229건, 22년 516건, 23년 666건으로 지속적인 증가추세를 나타내고 있으며, 24년(1분기 기준)은 (23년 1분기 146건 → 24년 1분기 157건) 전년 대비 7.5% 증가하였다. 

대표적인 유형으로는 헤어진 연인관계, 이혼 혹은 별거중인 부부 관계, 이웃 주민 등으로 나타나고 있다.

이는 피해자가 범죄사실의 인지와 신고가 어려운 ‘관계성 범죄’로 단순 스토킹에서 강력범죄로 전이될 가능성이 농후하다.

충북경찰청(여성청소년과 관계자)은 “앞으로도 교육기관과 협업을 통해 스토킹·교제폭력 등 관계성 범죄에 대한 이해도를 높여 범죄로부터 안전한 지역 만들기에 최선의 노력을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
