【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=충청북도농업기술원 제31대 원장에 조은희(56세) 농촌진흥청 기술보급과장이 12월 12일 자로 취임했다.

 조은희 원장은 경기도 포천이 고향으로 1990년 공직에 입문해 가평군, 의정부시농업기술센터와 경기도농업기술원에 근무했고, 2004년 농촌진흥청에 전입하여 기술보급사업 기획, 농업재해대응과 농축산물 수급안정지원 등 다양한 분야에 대한 경험과 전문성을 갖춘 것으로 알려져 있다. 

 2006년 8월 농촌지도관으로 승진하여 농촌진흥청 농촌자원과와 재해대응과 등 핵심 주요 부서에서 근무하며, 2019년 국립원예특작과학원 기술지원과장을 거쳐 2020년부터 농촌진흥청 기술보급과장으로 폭넓은 지식과 경험을 갖춘 능력을 인정받아 이번에 충북도농업기술원 제31대 원장으로 취임하게 되었다. 

 조 원장은 이화여자대학교 식품영양학과를 졸업 후 고려대학교에서 2002년 식품가공학 분야 석사 학위를 취득한 식품 분야 전문가이다. 

 특히 전국 시·군 농업기술센터 농산물종합가공센터 확산에 큰 역할을 했다.

 조 원장은 “기후변화 대응 작물 안정생산 기술 개발, 스마트농업 보급, 소비트렌드를 반영한 품종 육성으로 농산물 가치소비를 높여야 한다”라며, “청년농업인 역량 강화, 도시농부 육성, 치유농업 확산과 가공 기술 보급 등 충북농업의 도약과 발전을 견인하겠다”고 강조했다.

 또한, 현안 과제인 과수화상병 확산방지, 농업기술원 분원 설립, 첨단 스마트팜 실증센터 구축과 당면과제인 기후변화 대응 탄소중립, 청년농업인 및 도시농부 육성, 치유농업 확산, 충북 대표 특화작목 육성 등을 강조하며 민선 8기 도정목표 실현을 위해 마부정제(馬不停蹄)의 자세로 충북농업 발전과 농업인 삶의 질 향상도 강조했다.
