【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=(사)고향주부모임 음성군연합회는 지난 1일 음성군청을 방문해 지역 인재 육성을 위해 (재)음성군장학회(이사장 조병옥)에 장학금 200만원을 기탁했다.

(사)고향주부모임 음성군연합회는 농협의 여성 조직 육성단체로, 2018년 첫 기탁을 시작으로 이번까지 총 600만 원의 장학금을 후원했다. 아침밥 먹기 운동, 사회복지시설에 명절 송편 나눔 행사 등 지역사회 공헌 활동에도 지속적으로 앞장서고 있다.

이번 장학금은 지난 9월 열린 ‘2025 음성명작페스티벌’에서 음성명작米(쌀)를 홍보하기 위해 농협음성군지부와 공동 기획한 인절미 판매의 수익금 전액으로 조성됐다. 이날 기탁식에는 고윤종 농협음성군지부장이 함께 참석해 의미를 더했다.

원어연 회장은 “지역의 대표 작물인 음성명작米를 널리 알리고, 성공적인 축제를 위해 기쁜 마음으로 인절미 판매에 참여했다”며 “이번 수익금이 학생들이 경제적 어려움 없이 다양한 분야에서 자신의 꿈을 펼치는 데 도움이 되길 바란다”고 말했다.

조병옥 이사장은 “지역 농산물 홍보와 더불어 지역 인재 양성에 대한 꾸준히 관심에 감사드린다”며 “따뜻한 마음으로 기탁해 주신 장학금은 음성을 이끌 미래 인재들이 꿈과 희망을 키워나갈 수 있는 교육 환경 조성에 소중히 사용하겠다”고 밝혔다.
