【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=충북 단양군은 지난 1일부터 2일까지 단양군체육관(서관)에서 어린이들이 생활 속 안전을 쉽고 재미있게 익힐 수 있도록 ‘찾아가는 재난안전 체험마당’을 운영했다고 밝혔다.

이번 체험마당은 실제 재난 상황을 반영한 실습형 안전교육으로, 아이들이 직접 보고 듣고 움직이며 안전 수칙을 익힐 수 있도록 어린이 눈높이에 맞춰 구성된 것이 특징이다. 

군은 체험 중심의 교육이 사고 예방에 효과적이라는 점에 주목해 다양한 재난 유형을 직접 경험할 수 있는 프로그램을 마련했다.

체험 프로그램은 △교통안전 교육(횡단보도 이용법, 안전벨트 착용) △위생교육(올바른 손씻기, 양치질) △수상안전 교육(구명조끼 착용법, 비상 탈출) △지진체험 △태풍체험 △비행기 탈출 교육 등으로 구성돼 어린이들이 직접 참여하며 배울 수 있도록 운영됐다.

특히 지진체험에서는 흔들림 강도를 단계별로 재현해 상황 변화에 따른 대응 요령을 체감하도록 했으며, 태풍체험은 강풍과 기상 변화를 경험하며 자연재난의 위험성을 이해하는 방식으로 진행됐다. 

일상에서 접하기 어려운 다양한 재난 상황을 체험한 어린이들은 막연한 두려움을 줄이고, 실제 위기 상황에서도 침착하게 판단하고 행동할 수 있는 능력을 기르는 데 도움을 받을 수 있었다는 평가다.

군 관계자는 “이번 찾아가는 안전체험 교육이 어린이들의 위험 대응 능력 향상과 올바른 안전 습관 형성에 기여했길 바란다”며 “앞으로도 군민 모두가 일상 속에서 안전을 실천할 수 있도록 다양한 교육 프로그램을 지속적으로 확대해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
