【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=청주대학교는 최근 충북지역 대학생들의 창의적인 인공지능(AI) 기반 문제해결 능력을 발굴하기 위해 개최된 ‘2025 충북지역 대학생 인공지능 활용 아이디어 공모전’이 성료됐다고 2일 밝혔다.

이번 공모전은 청주대학교 SW중심대학사업단이 주최하고 인공지능·디지털협의체가 주관해 진행된 가운데 충북 지역 대학생이나 대학원생들이 실제 공공기관 현안과 연결된 AI 솔루션을 제안할 수 있도록 기획됐다. 

또한 한국가스안전공사, 한국고용정보원, 한국과학기술기획평가원, 한국교육개발원, 한국교육과정평가원, 한국소비자원 등 6개 기관이 주제 제안 기관으로 참여해 현실성 있는 문제를 제시했다.

올해 공모전에는 총 146개 팀이 참가해 높은 관심을 보인 가운데 서면 및 발표심사를 거쳐 18개 팀이 본선에 진출, 기관별 대상·최우수상·우수상 등 총 18점의 수상작이 선정됐다.

청주대에서는 데이터사이언스학과, 인공지능소프트웨어학과, 전기제어학과, 디지털보안학과 등 소프트웨어중심대학 참여 학생들이 다양한 기관의 주제 분야에서 우수한 성과를 거뒀다. 

청주대의 네로팀과 엣지러너팀에서 한국교육과정평가원의 대상과 우수상, Data Science팀에서 한국소비자원의 우수상, 로드온팀에서 한국고용정보원의 우수상을 수상했다. 

특히 한국가스안전공사의 주제로 공모전에 참여했던 세우복선팀이 특별상인 청주대학교 총장상을 수상했다.

청주대 홍성웅 SW중심대학사업단장은 “이번 공모전은 지역 대학생들이 AI 기술을 활용해 사회적 문제해결에 의미 있는 아이디어를 제시한 값진 자리였다”며 “청주대는 앞으로도 지역 기반 AI 인재 양성과 혁신적인 프로젝트 수행을 적극 지원하겠다”고 말했다.

Chungbuk University AI Idea Contest Wins Five Teams from Cheongju University's Software-Focused University

Cheongju University announced on the 2nd that the "2025 Chungbuk University AI Idea Contest," held to discover creative AI-based problem-solving skills among university students in the region, has been successfully completed.

Hosted by Cheongju University's Software-Focused University Project Team and organized by the AI ​​and Digital Council, the contest was designed to encourage university and graduate students in the Chungbuk region to propose AI solutions related to real-world issues facing public institutions.

Furthermore, six organizations—Korea Gas Safety Corporation, Korea Employment Information Service, Korea Institute of Science and Technology Evaluation and Planning, Korea Educational Development Institute, Korea Institute of Curriculum and Evaluation, and Korea Consumer Agency—participated as topic proposers, presenting realistic and relevant problems.

This year's contest attracted a great deal of interest, with 146 teams participating. Following a written and presentation review, 18 teams advanced to the finals, with a total of 18 winning entries selected, including the Grand Prize, Excellence Prize, and Excellence Award from each institution.

Students from Cheongju University's software-focused departments, including Data Science, Artificial Intelligence Software, Electrical Control, and Digital Security, achieved outstanding results across a variety of subject areas.

Cheongju University's Nero and Edge Runner teams won the Grand Prize and Excellence Award from the Korea Institute of Curriculum and Evaluation, the Data Science team won the Excellence Award from the Korea Consumer Agency, and the Road On team won the Excellence Award from the Korea Employment Information Service.

Notably, the Sewoo Reinforcement Team, which participated in the contest with the theme of the Korea Gas Safety Corporation, received a special award, the Cheongju University President's Award.

Hong Seong-ung, head of the SW Centered University Business Group at Cheongju University, said, “This contest was a valuable opportunity for local university students to present meaningful ideas for solving social problems using AI technology,” and added, “Cheongju University will continue to actively support the development of local AI talent and the implementation of innovative projects.”
