【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=보은군 어머니후원회는 11월 28일 보은교육지원청을 방문해 지역 학생들의 학습 기회 확대와 교육복지 향상을 위해 장학금 310만원을 기탁했다고 12월 1일(월) 밝혔다.

  이번 장학금은 쌀 전업농, 농협충북본부, 농협보은군지부에서 300kg의 쌀을 지원받아 보은교육지원청 교육공동체가 함께 한마음으로 한양병원 사거리에서 진행한 ‘가래떡데이(11월 11일) 행사’ 판매 수익금으로, 어려운 가정환경 속에서도 성실한 생활 태도와 학업 의지를 갖고 있는 학생들이 자신의 꿈을 이어갈 수 있도록 지원하기 위해 마련된 것이다.

  보은군 어머니후원회는 매년 다양한 봉사활동과 기금 마련 활동을 펼치며 지역 교육 발전에 꾸준히 기여해왔으며, 특히 학생 복지와 교육 나눔에 지속적인 관심을 기울여왔다.

  구경숙 회장은 “작은 정성이지만 학생들이 자신의 가능성을 믿고 더 큰 꿈을 펼치는 데 도움이 되길 바라는 마음으로 기탁하게 됐다”며 “앞으로도 지역사회와 함께 학생들을 응원하는 활동을 이어가겠다”고 말했다.

  전병일 보은교육장은 “지역사회의 따뜻한 관심과 지원은 학생들에게 큰 희망과 용기가 되고 있다”며 “기탁해주신 장학금은 학생들에게 의미 있게 전달될 수 있도록 소중히 사용하겠다”고 감사를 전했다.
