지역 전략사업인 ‘영동 일라이트 클러스터 조성사업’이 전국 기초지자체 가운데 우수 정책으로 평가받은 결과다.

이번 사업은 지역의 유무형 자산을 새로운 경제 플랫폼으로 재구성하는 데 목표를 두고, 일라이트 기반 산업을 체계적으로 육성해 지역경제의 성장 구조를 바꾸는 전략으로 추진해 왔다.

군은 산업화-고도화-확장으로 이어지는 단계적 성장 모델을 마련했으며, 이를 통해 일자리 창출, 산업 포트폴리오 확장, 지역균형발전 등 실질적 파급효과가 기대된다.

대한민국시장군수구청장협의회는 올해 수상작을 ‘우수정책사례집’으로 발간해 전국에 공유할 예정이며, 영동군의 사례도 포함돼 타 지자체의 정책 설계에 참고 자료로 활용될 전망이다.

군 관계자는 “이번 수상은 영동군의 경제 전략을 새롭게 정립한 결과”라며 “지역의 잠재력을 산업의 언어로 다시 쓰는 작업을 지속해 영동군의 경제 지도를 재편해 나가겠다”고 말했다.

Yeongdong County Wins Excellence Award for Illite Cluster Development Project at '25 Basic Local Government Policy Competition'

Yeongdong County, North Chungcheong Province, received an Excellence Award in the Regional Economic Revitalization category at the '2025 Basic Local Government Policy Competition' hosted by the Korea Mayors and County Mayors/District Mayors Association on the 26th at the Boryeong Mud Theme Park Convention Hall.
