【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=충북 진천군이 정부의 핵심 국정과제인 ‘AI 3대 강국 도약’ 정책에 발맞춰 인공지능(AI) 산업 생태계 기반 마련에 박차를 가하고 있다.

  군은 27일 청주 엔포드호텔에서 열린 ‘충북인공지능산업협회 선포식 및 제4회 충북 AI·ICT 성과발표회’에 참석해 도내 AI, ICT 산업의 성과를 공유했다.

  이번 행사 참석은 지난 11월 12일 진천군이 충북인공지능산업협회(회장 홍진표) 특별회원 가입 후 참여한 협회 활동으로 관련 기업과 정보 교류 활성화에 본격적으로 나선 것으로 보인다.

  충북인공지능산업협회는 지난 8월 기존 충북ICT산업협회에서 명칭을 변경해 새롭게 출범한 단체로, AI, ICT 융합산업 관련 120여 개 기업과 전문가가 참여하고 있으며, 산업 발전과 기술 교류를 기반으로 혁신 생태계 조성과 산업 경쟁력 강화를 목표로 하고 있다.

  이에 앞선 지난 9월에는 충북인공지능산업협회, 우석대학교, 진천상공회의소와 ‘AI 허브 기반 조성을 위한 업무협약’을 체결하기도 했다.

  군은 해당 협회 특별회원 가입과 활동을 계기로 행정·교육·산업 등 전 분야에 걸쳐 AI 기술을 접목한 신규 정책을 적극 발굴하고, 지역 내 기업·대학·기관과의 협력 네트워크를 강화해 충북을 대표하는 AI 중심 도시로 나아갈 계획이다.

  또한 AI 관련 네트워킹 강화를 통해 군정 전 분야에 혁신적인 AI 기반 정책을 적용해 군민이 체감할 수 있는 실질적인 성과를 창출, 인근 지역까지 AI 시대의 변화를 확산시킬 예정이다.

  김경완 군 미래전략실장은 “이번 협회 가입을 통해 진천이 충북의 AI 산업 발전을 선도하고, AI가 지역 전반으로 확산하는 기반을 마련할 것”이라며 “AI를 기반으로 한 교육·행정·생활 혁신을 통해 군민 모두가 인공지능의 혜택을 체감하고, 진천이 충북의 미래 혁신을 이끄는 중심도시가 되도록 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
