【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=충북도는 충청내륙고속화도로 2~3공구 음성군 소이면에서 충주시 대소원면 만정리(신촌교차로)까지 10.7㎞ 본선구간을 ’25. 11. 18. 12시부터 추가 개통한다고 밝혔다.

 이로써, 청주시 상리터널부터 충주시 대소원면 만정리까지 40.4㎞를 자동차 전용도로로 달릴 수 있어 도내 반나절 생활권에 한발짝 더 가까워졌다.

 특히, 올해 12월에 3공구 충주 대소원면 신촌교차로에서 중앙탑면 검단교차로까지 4.2㎞구간과 4공구 충주 금가면에서 제천 봉양읍까지 13.2㎞ 구간을 개통하면 충청내륙고속화도로는 2011년 실시설계를 끝내고 2017년 첫 삽을 뜬 이후 15년만에 완전 개통을 하게 된 것이다.

 이처럼 충청내륙고속화도로의 개통을 서두르기까지는 국토부와 충북도의 유기적인 협력이 주효했다. 총사업비 1조 305억원을 투입하는 이 사업에 2~3공구 조기개통을 위해 올해 사업비만 711억원을 투입한 것이다.

 충청내륙고속화도로가 완공되면 충북 북부권과 중부권, 청주권의 물류와 인적 교류가 더욱 원활해져 지역경제와 관광 활성화, 물류 효율성 증대라는 다방면의 긍정적 효과를 가져올 것으로 기대된다. 

 또한, 충청내륙고속화도로와 남부권(보은, 옥천, 영동) 중심의 제2충청내륙고속화도로가 연결되면 충북은 진정한 반나절 생활권을 맞이할 것으로 전망된다.
