공동육아나눔터는 이웃 가정이 만나 육아 정보와 경험을 공유하는 열린 공간으로 자녀를 함께 돌보며 양육의 경제적 부담을 덜고 돌봄 공백을 해소해 가족 기능 강화의 거점으로 주목받고 있다.

서충주 미진이지비아 아파트 내 관리사무실 2층에 있는 3호점은 이웃과 소통하며 품앗이 돌봄 공동체를 구성, 부모와 아이가 함께하는 프로그램을 운영하고 있다.

특히 ‘돌봄 품앗이’는 육아라는 공통된 목적 아래 양육 방법을 공유하고 스트레스를 해소하는 프로그램으로, 쌀 튀밥을 활용한 촉감놀이, 분장 의상 입고 사진 찍기 등 나이별 맞춤 놀이 활동을 통해 큰 호응을 얻고 있다.

품앗이 활동에 참여한 한 부모는 “자녀와 함께하는 프로그램을 통해 관계가 더욱 가까워졌고, 이웃과 육아 이야기를 나눌 수 있어 큰 도움이 된다”고 소감을 전했다.

공동육아나눔터 3호점은 품앗이 외에도 상시프로그램, 품앗이 리더 교육, 부모 교육, 전체 모임 등 다양한 활동을 운영하며, 부모 간 네트워크 강화와 자녀의 건강한 성장을 지원하고 있다.

초등돌봄은 초등 1~3학년, 품앗이 돌봄은 18세 미만 자녀를 둔 가정이면 누구나 무료로 이용할 수 있다.

심재석 센터장은 “공동육아나눔터는 부모들에게는 정보를 공유하고 함께 어울릴 수 있는 네트워크 공간을, 아이들에게는 정서·사회적으로 건강하게 성장할 수 있도록 지역사회의 다양한 자원을 제공하는 곳”이라며 “앞으로도 시민 누구나 안심하고 자녀를 키울 수 있는 양육 환경 조성에 힘쓰겠다”라고 말했다.

한편, 충주시와 충주시가족센터는 돌봄 공백 해소를 위해 6개소의 공동육아나눔터를 운영 중이며, 올해 공모사업에 선정되어 ‘충주야현체육센터’ 내 7호점을 추가로 개소할 예정이다.
