충북 단양군 대강면 청련암 일원에서 지난 5일 열린 ‘제3회 역동 우탁 시조문학제’가 성황리에 막을 내렸다.

한국예술문화단체총연합회 단양지회가 주최·주관한 이번 행사는 고려시대 유학자이자 문인인 우탁 선생의 학문적 업적과 문학정신을 기리고, 전통 시조문학의 가치를 계승·발전시키기 위해 마련됐다.

행사 주요 프로그램인 전국 초·중·고등학생 시조백일장에는 140여 명의 학생이 참여해 현장에서 제시된 시제에 따라 창작의 열정을 펼쳤다. 

전문가 4인의 공정한 심사를 거쳐 장원 1명, 차상 2명, 차하 4명, 참방 8명 등 총 15명의 수상자가 선정됐다.

이와 함께 시조창 초청공연이 무대를 채워 관람객의 큰 박수와 호응을 얻었으며, 행사장 주변에는 전통문화 체험부스와 먹거리 공간이 운영돼 문학과 예술이 어우러진 풍성한 가을 축제의 장이 됐다.

행사 관계자는 “우탁 선생의 고귀한 학문정신을 기리고, 문학을 통해 지역의 문화유산을 계승하는 뜻깊은 시간이 됐다”며 “앞으로도 청소년과 지역민이 함께하는 문학 축제를 지속적으로 확대해 나가겠다”고 말했다.

Danyang was immersed in the fragrance of sijo poetry amidst the deepening autumn atmosphere.

The 3rd Yeokdong Wootak Sijo Literature Festival, held on the 5th at Cheongnyeonam Hermitage in Daegang-myeon, Danyang-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do, concluded successfully.

Hosted and organized by the Danyang Chapter of the Korean Federation of Arts and Culture Organizations, the event commemorated the academic achievements and literary spirit of Wootak, a Goryeo Dynasty Confucian scholar and writer, and aimed to preserve and develop the value of traditional sijo literature.

The main event, a nationwide sijo writing contest for elementary, middle, and high school students, saw approximately 140 students participate, displaying their passion for writing based on sijo poems presented on-site.

After a fair evaluation by four experts, a total of 15 winners were selected, including one grand prize winner, two second-place winners, four second-place winners, and eight third-place winners.

Furthermore, a performance by invited sijo singers filled the stage, drawing enthusiastic applause and a warm response from the audience. Traditional culture experience booths and food stalls were set up around the venue, creating a rich autumn festival combining literature and art.

Event officials stated, "This was a meaningful opportunity to honor the noble academic spirit of Professor Woo Tak and to preserve the region's cultural heritage through literature. We will continue to expand this literary festival, engaging youth and local residents."
