  23일 진천군 이월면 사당리 진천테크노폴리스 산단에서 지역경제의 획기적 전환점이 될 ㈜오리온 진천통합센터의 착공식이 성공적으로 개최됐다.

  착공식에는 ㈜오리온 허인철 부회장과 송기섭 진천군수, 이복원 충북경제부지사, 이재명 진천군의회의장, 임영은 도의원, 안치영 도의원 등 주요 관계자들이 참석해 진천통합센터 착공을 축하하고 무사 완공을 기원했다.

  오리온 진천통합센터는 약 4,600억원이 투입돼 지어지는 대형 프로젝트로 2027년 완공을 목표로 하고 있다. 

  축구장 26개를 합친 크기인 18만 8,000㎡(약 5만7,000평) 규모의 부지에 전체면적 14만 9,000㎡(약 4만5,000평) 규모로 설계됐다.

  단순 제조 시설을 넘어 생산과 포장, 배송까지 전 과정을 한 곳에서 수행하는 스마트 복합기지로, 오리온의 혁신 경영 전략을 뒷받침함과 동시에, 진천이 식품 물류의 핵심 도시로 자리매김하는 기회가 마련됐다고 볼 수 있다.
