【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=충북 증평군은 ‘2025년도 증평군민대상’ 수상자로 산업·경제 부문에 배종록(63세) 씨와 문화·복지 부문에 김장응(78세) 씨를 각각 선정했다고 28일 밝혔다.

증평군민대상은 지역경제와 문화예술 발전, 지역사회 봉사 등 증평군 발전을 위해 헌신하고 봉사한 모범 군민에게 수여하는 상이다.

2005년 이후 올해까지 총 30명이 수상의 영예를 안았으며, 특히 올해는 군민대상 제정 이래 처음으로 산업·경제 부문 수상자가 선정돼 의미를 더했다.

앞서 군은 지난 25일 증평군민대상 심사위원회를 열고 각 부문별 추천 후보자에 대한 공정하고 엄격한 심사를 통해 수상자를 최종 확정했다.

산업·경제 부문 수상자 배종록 씨는 영농자재 지원, 로컬푸드 직매장 확장 등 농가 소득 증대와 지역경제 활성화에 힘써왔다.

특히 ‘증평형 농촌 일손 더하기 사업’을 전국 최초로 관과 협력해 추진하며 고령화로 어려움을 겪는 농촌 인력난 해소에 기여, 증평 농업의 지속 가능한 경쟁력을 높였다는 평가를 받았다.

문화·복지부문 수상자 김장응 씨는 제7대, 8대 증평문화원장을 역임하면서 증평인삼골축제 등 문화행사를 이끌어 지역민의 문화 향유 기회를 넓히는 데 앞장섰다. 

또한 증평학연구소 설립, 애국지사 연병호 선생 기념사업회 운영 등을 통해 증평의 역사·문화 정체성을 정립하는 데 기여했다.

이재영 군수는 “증평군민대상은 지역주민들이 수여하는 지역에서 가장 명예로운 포상”이라며 “지역을 위해 헌신·봉사하신 분들께 군민을 대표해 진심으로 감사드린다”고 말했다.

한편 2025년도 증평군민대상 시상식은 오늘 8월 30일 증평종합스포츠센터에서 개최되는 제22주년 증평군민의 날 기념 주민화합행사에서 진행될 예정이다.
