【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=충청북도교육청 소속 교직원들은 매월 급여에서 1천 원 이상 일정 금액을 모아 기부하는 교직원 제자사랑 실천을 꾸준히 이어오고 있다.

충청북도교육청(교육감 윤건영)은 3일, 교육감실에서 충북교육청 소속 교직원들을 대표해 충북사회복지공동모금회(회장 이민성)와 장학금 전달식을 진행했다. 

충북교육청은 충북사회복지공동모금회와 지난 2016년 8월 12일 <충청북도 교직원 제자사랑 실천 운동 협약>을 체결한 이후 현재까지 꾸준히 <교직원 제자사랑 장학금>을 지원하고 있다. 

올해 전달된 장학금은 총 7천만 원으로 지난해 교직원이 적립한 월급기부 모금액 22,478,000원과 충북사회복지공동모금회의 추가 성금 47,522,000원을 합한 금액이다.

이 장학금은 경제적 형편이 어려운 도내 초‧중‧고등학교 학생 140명에게 1인당 50만 원씩 지급될 예정이다.

이민성 회장은 “도내 저소득층 학생들이 건강하고 올바르게 성장할 수 있도록 지원함으로써, 어려운 환경을 극복하고 학업과 자립 역량을 키워 나가며 꿈과 희망을 실현할 수 있도록 지원하겠다.”라고 전했다.

윤건영 교육감은 “어려운 환경에서 도움이 필요한 학생들이 더 많은 지원을 받을 수 있도록 관심을 갖고 도와 주시는 이민성 충북사회복지공동모금회장님을 비롯한 직원 여러분께 감사의 말씀을 드린다.”라며, “앞으로도 학생(제자)사랑 실천 운동에 더 많은 교직원이 참여하여 학생사랑 나눔이 계속 이어 가길 바란다.”라고 말했다.

한편, 충북교육청의 교직원이 충북사회복지공동모금회를 통해 도내 초‧중‧고등학생에게 지급하는 <교직원 제자사랑 장학금>은 지금까지 866명, 4억 3,300만 원이다.
