【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=음성군이 안정적 하수 관리 및 도심지 침수 피해 예방을 위해 관내 공공하수처리시설 증설사업을 준공하고 본격적인 운영에 돌입했다고 2일 밝혔다.

군에 따르면, 총사업비 79억원(국비 54억원, 도비 7억원 포함)을 들여 2021년부터 맹동면 쌍정리 일원에 공공하수처리시설 하루 하수처리용량 250톤을 증설하고 지난 6월 준공해 최근 운영을 시작했다.

해당 사업의 준공으로 공공하수처리장 1일 하수처리 능력이 기존 350t에서 1일 600t으로 큰 폭으로 개선됐다. 

이에 따라 하수처리구역 내 가구에서는 별도의 개별하수처리시설 없이도 공공하수처리시설로 하수를 유입할 수 있게 돼 주민 거주환경 개선 및 안정적인 하수관리가 가능해질 것으로 보인다.

증설된 시설에는 생물반응조 H-SBR공법이 적용돼 법적 기준치보다 강화된 목표수질로 방류할 수 있도록 설계했으며, 이에 보다 깨끗한 하수처리가 기대된다.

조병옥 군수는 “이번 공공하수처리시설 준공으로 하수처리 구역이 확대되고 안정적 하수 관리가 가능해져 군민 삶의 질 향상과 수질개선 효과가 기대된다”며 “앞으로도 지속적인 하수도 인프라 확충에 힘쓰겠다”고 말했다.

한편 군은 이번에 준공된 맹동 공공하수처리시설 외에도 현재 진행 중인 음성 하수관로 정비사업(4차), 대소 하수관로 정비사업(3차), 금왕 하수관로 정비사업(2차), 한벌 외 3개소 소규모공공하수처리시설 설치사업 등 하수도 정비사업 추진에 최선을 다할 예정이다.
