전국의 서예인을 대상으로 열리는 이번 대회는 통일신라시대 충주에서 활약한 서예 대가 김생 선생의 예술 정신을 계승하고, 서예 문화의 저변 확대와 발전을 도모하고자 마련됐다.

대회는 한글, 한문, 문인화 등 3개 부문으로 진행되며 작품 명제는 충주문화원 누리집에서 확인할 수 있다.

대상 수상자에게는 한국문화예술위원회 위원장 명의의 상장과 상금 200만 원, 최우수상 수상자에게는 충주시장 명의 상장과 상금 100만 원이 각각 수여된다.

또한 우수상과 장려상 수상자 각 3명에게는 상장과 상금이, 특선 및 입선자에게는 충주문화원장 명의의 상장이 수여된다.

입상작 발표 및 시상은 대회 당일 심사를 거쳐 오후 4시에 진행될 예정이다.

대회 참가 신청은 6월 13일까지 가능하며, 우편(충주문화원)이나 이메일, 팩스로 가능하다.

유진태 원장은 “전국의 많은 서예인이 참가해 주시길 바란다”라며 “공정한 심사를 통해 참가자 여러분의 기대에 부응하며 최고 권위의 대회로써 거듭나겠다”라고 말했다.

This competition, open to calligraphers nationwide, was created to inherit the artistic spirit of calligraphy master Kim Saeng, who was active in Chungju during the Unified Silla period, and to promote the expansion and development of calligraphy culture.

The competition will be held in three categories: Korean, Chinese, and literati painting, and the titles of the works can be found on the Chungju Cultural Center website.
