증평군체육회(회장 최재옥) 주관으로 열린 이날 결단식에는 이재영 군수, 조윤성 군의장, 최재옥 회장을 비롯한 종목단체 임원과 체육회 임원, 선수 등 120여 명이 참석해 선수들을 격려하고 선전을 기원했다.

행사는 격려사와 단기 수여, 선수대표 선서 순으로 진행됐다.

이번 대회에 증평군은 종합 순위 6위를 목표로 일반부 24개 종목 및 학생부 3개 종목에 선수 268명, 임원 및 관계자 144명 등 총 412명의 선수단이 출전한다.

이재영 군수는 “우리 선수들이 그동안 흘린 땀과 노력이 좋은 결실을 맺기를 바라며 선수 여러분의 도전과 열정을 응원하겠다”고 말했다

한편, 이번 제64회 충북도민체육대회는 5월 8일부터 5월 10일까지 3일간 충주시 일원에서 열린다.
