【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=음성군은 27일 개최된 제19회 반기문 마라톤대회가 동호인 1만2천여명이 참가한 가운데 성황리에 마무리됐다고 밝혔다.

김일중, 채영 아나운서의 사회로 시작된 이날 개회식에는 조병옥 음성군수, 김영호 음성군의회 의장, 김기창 음성군체육회장, 임호선 국회의원, 윤건영 충북교육감 등 주요 내빈이 참석해 격려와 축하의 인사를 건넸다.

특히 지난 제18회 대회에 이어 반기문 총장 내외가 참석해 참가 선수들에게 격려 인사를 전하는 등 대회를 더욱 빛냈다. 

이번 대회는 음성종합운동장을 출발해 음성생활체육공원을 순회하는 4.2km 건강달리기코스와 감우재, 금왕, 생극 오생리를 반환해 다시 돌아오는 코스로 구성됐다.

작년 대비 많은 참가자가 모이는 만큼 교통 통제와 우회도로 안내, 주요 도로 경찰과 자원봉사자 배치, 의료지원 및 후송 차량 운영 등 안전을 최우선으로 고려해 진행됐다.

마라톤 코스 곳곳에서는 풍물단 등의 각종 이벤트와 부대행사가 펼쳐져 마라토너들에게 응원과 힘을 북돋웠다.

군은 대회 참가자 편의를 위해 △외국인지원센터 부스 △음료 봉사 부스 △먹거리 부스와 군정 시책 홍보를 위한 △고향사랑기부제 △내고장 음성愛 주소갖기 △음성품바축제 홍보부스 △음성명작 농특산물 판매·홍보부스 등을 운영해 눈길을 끌었다.

이와 함께 국수, 두부김치, 계란 등 선수들을 위해 준비한 먹거리코너는 준비한 재료가 모두 소진될 정도로 큰 호응을 얻었다.

김기창 군 체육회장은 “전국에서 참여해 주신 마라톤 동호인들께 진심으로 감사드린다”며 “본 대회의 성공을 발판 삼아 반기문마라톤대회가 명실상부한 전국 최고의 대회로 자리매김할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다. 

조병옥 군수는 “음성군 직원과 체육회, 자원봉사센터, 경찰서 등 여러 기관단체와 불편함을 감수해 주신 군민 여러분의 적극적인 협조로 대회가 성공적으로 마무리될 수 있었다”며 “부족한 부분을 보완해 더 좋은 모습으로 전국의 마라토너를 맞이할 수 있도록 하겠다”고 말했다.

한편, 풀코스, 하프코스, 10km, 4.2km 등 4개 부분으로 진행된 이날 대회에서는 △풀코스 남자부에서는 로버트 허드슨(2시간 28분 12초), 여자는 김유진(3시간 12분 44초) 선수가 각각 1위를 차지했으며, △하프코스 남자부 KWEMA PATRICK GICHUKI(1시간 15분 45초), 여자부 류승화(1시간 23분 20초) △10km코스 남자부 김두년(35분 13초), 여자부 김은아(39분 52초) △4.2km코스 남자부 정성우, 여자부 유은지 선수가 1위를 차지했다.
