이번 사업은 농작업 중 발생할 수 있는 사고의 근본적인 원인을 분석하고, 이에 따른 위험 요소를 사전에 진단해 체계적인 안전조치를 마련하는 데 중점을 두고 있다.

지원 대상은 농작업 안전관리 체계 구축이 시급한 마을이나 농업 단체다.

참여 농가는 전문 컨설팅을 통한 현장 점검을 통해 잠재된 위험 요소를 진단받고, 맞춤형 안전 조치를 마련하게 된다.

또한 사업을 통해 농작업 안전 보조장비가 지원되며, 참여형 교육 프로그램을 통해 농업인 스스로 안전의식을 높이고, 지속 가능한 안전 농작업 환경을 실천할 수 있는 기반을 갖출 수 있도록 돕는다.

김덕태 소장은 “농업 현장의 안전은 생명과 직결되는 문제”라며, “이번 시범사업을 시작으로 농업인의 안전사고 예방 능력을 강화해 농작업 사고로 인한 인적·경제적 손실을 줄일 수 있는 환경을 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 강조했다.
