위원회는 지난 10∼11일 이틀간, 주민자치사업의 일환으로 어상천면 심곡리 회전교차로 인근 도로변에 꽃잔디와 튤립, 붓드레야 등 5종의 초화류와 2종의 목수국을 식재했다.

이번 사업은 주민 스스로 마을 환경을 가꾸고, 밝고 활기찬 경관을 조성하자는 취지로 추진됐다. 

현재는 꽃 식재를 마친 단계로, 앞으로 계절의 변화에 따라 꽃들이 아름답게 피어나며 마을 분위기를 한층 더 따뜻하고 생기 있게 만들어줄 것으로 기대된다.

김찬수 어상천면 주민자치위원장은 “가곡면에서 어상천면으로 진입하는 관문인 심곡리 회전교차로는 외부 방문객들에게 마을의 첫인상을 남기는 중요한 지점”이라며, “주민자치위원들이 함께 힘을 모아 심은 꽃들이 어상천면의 이미지를 더욱 아름답게 만들어줄 것”이라고 말했다.
