【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=지난 12일 경기도 안산시에 거주하고 있는 출향인들이 고향인 옥천군 장령산자연휴양림을 방문했다.

재안산옥천향우회(회장 곽상관)와 재안산충북도민회(회장 김영근) 회원 70여 명은 이곳에서 강연, 트레킹 등을 함께하는 역량 강화 워크숍을 가졌다.

특히 이날 옥천향우회와 충북도민회 회원들은 각각 고향사랑기부금 100만 원을 기탁하는 등 옥천 고향사랑기부제 홍보 캠페인을 벌여 눈길을 끌었다.

재안산충북도민회 김영근 회장은 “도내 11개 시군을 방문하여 고향사랑기부제 홍보활동을 펼치고 있다”라며 옥천군에 방문한 이유를 설명했고 재안산옥천향우회 곽상관 회장 역시 “향우들과 함께 고향을 방문하여 반갑고 뜻깊다. 멀리서도 옥천군을 항상 응원하겠다”고 말했다.

황규철 옥천군수도 “바쁜 일정 속에도 고향을 잊지 않고 찾아와 주셔서 감사하다”며 “전달해주신 고향사랑기부금은 지역사회의 미래를 밝히는 소중한 밑거름이 될 것”이라고 화답했다.

한편, 회원 500명이 속해있는 재안산충북도민회 산하 단체인 안산옥천향우회는 지난 2023년에도 옥천을 방문하여 수생식물학습원과 부소담악 등을 둘러보고 고향사랑기부금을 기탁한 바 있다.

고향사랑기부제는 개인이 자신의 고향이나 관심 있는 지자체에 기부하면 세액공제와 함께 기부금의 30% 내로 지역 특산품을 받을 수 있는 제도로 기부 참여 시 다른 제도와는 차별화되는 혜택을 받을 수 있다. 옥천군은 오는 5월 310여 개 경로당에 양념 꾸러미를 지원하며 고향사랑기금사업의 첫 삽을 뜰 예정이다.
