단양군은 오는 5월 24일 열리는 제2회 ‘단양사투리 경연대회’의 참가자를 모집한다고 밝혔다.

이번 대회는 소백산철쭉제추진위원회가 주최하고, 단양말(사투리) 보존회가 주관해 단양읍 수변특설무대에서 본선을 개최한다.

단양사투리는 충북·강원·경북의 3도 접경지역이라는 지리적 특성 속에서 자연스럽게 형성된 지역 고유 언어로, 단양의 정체성과 공동체 문화를 상징하는 자산이다.

이번 경연대회는 사라져가는 지역 언어에 대한 관심을 높이고, 사투리 문화를 현대적 감각으로 재조명함으로써 그 가치를 널리 알리기 위해 기획됐다.

특히 청소년과 청년 세대가 단양 고유의 언어 문화를 직접 체험하고 이해할 수 있는 기회를 제공함으로써, 세대 간 소통과 공감의 장으로서 의미도 더할 전망이다.

지난해 열린 제1회 대회는 군민과 관광객의 뜨거운 호응 속에 다채로운 무대가 펼쳐졌으며, 김문근 군수가 직접 정리한 ‘단양사투리 모음’이 참가자들에게 유용한 자료로 활용되며 큰 주목을 받았다.

참가는 단양사투리에 관심 있는 전국 누구나 가능하며, 장르나 형식의 제한 없이 만담과 꽁트, 랩, 노래, 연극 등 다양한 방식으로 자유롭게 참여할 수 있다.

예선을 통해 선발된 총 10개 팀은 본선에서 각 5분 이내의 공연을 펼치게 된다. 

심사는 사투리의 억양과 빈도, 자연스러운 연기력, 관중 호응도 등을 기준으로 진행된다.

시상은 대상 1팀 300만 원, 최우수상 1팀 200만 원, 우수상 1팀 100만 원 등 총 6개 팀에게 상금이 수여되며, 아쉽게 수상하지 못한 본선 진출팀에도 단양사랑상품권이 지급된다.

참가 신청은 5월 2일까지 각 읍·면사무소 또는 단양말 보존회를 통해 접수할 수 있으며, 신청서는 단양군청 홈페이지 공지사항에서 내려받을 수 있다. 

예선은 5월 9일 오후 1시, 단양문화예술회관에서 열릴 예정이다.

군 관계자는 “3도 접경지역인 단양의 정감 있고 독특한 사투리를 보존하고 널리 알리고자 이번 경연대회를 준비했다”며, “군민과 관광객 모두가 즐기고 추억할 수 있는 알차고 흥미로운 무대가 될 수 있도록 많은 관심과 참여를 바란다”고 말했다.
