이어 이들은 권영세, 김형동, 이종배, 박덕흠, 강명구, 김은혜 의원실 등을 잇따라 방문해 단양군이 추진 중인 주요 현안사업에 대한 필요성과 기대 효과 등를 설명하고, 국비 확보를 위한 지원을 당부했다.

국비 지원 등을 건의한 사업은 △국도5호선(응실∼하시) 4차로 개량사업 △지방도 927호선 국도 승격 및 선형개량 △폐철교 철거(옛 상진철교, 덕상철교) △단양역 KTX-이음 정차 △통합 공공하수 처리시설 증설 △생활폐기물 소각시설 대보수사업 △백두대간 생태축 복원사업 등 7개 현안 사업이다.

이와 관련, 김문근 단양군수는 “정부의 건전 재정 기조 속에서 정부 예산 확보가 어려운 상황인 만큼 국회에 적극적인 사전 사업 건의와 협조 요청을 하는 등 국비 확보를 위해 더욱 총력을 기울겠다”고 말했다.
