【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=음성군이 1인당 지역내총생산(GRDP) 2년 연속 도내 1위를 기록하며 일등 경제도시임을 확고히 했다.

GRDP는 지역에서 정부·기업·가계 등 경제주체가 1년간 생산한 재화와 서비스 부가가치의 합으로, 지역별 경제 활성화와 부의 척도를 확인할 수 있는 지표다.

충북도가 3월 17일 공표한 2022년 기준 ‘충청북도 시군단위 지역내총생산(GRDP)’ 추계 결과, 음성군의 1인당 GRDP는 2021년보다 1천350만원 증가한 1억503만원으로 나타났다. 이는 도내 평균 5천225만원보다 무려 5천278만원(101%) 많은 수치이다.

또한 음성군의 GRDP 규모는 10조 5천507억원으로, 전년 대비 명목 가격으로는 1조 3천70억원(14.1%) 증가해 청주시에 이어 도내 2위를 기록했으며, 2021년 기준으로는 전국 군 단위에서 울산광역시 울주군에 이어 2위를 기록한 바 있다. 

이와 같은 GRDP 성장의 주요 요인은 지속적인 투자유치와 기업의 성공적 안착을 위한 지원, 이를 통한 고용 창출 활성화와 정주여건 개선사업의 효과로 분석된다.

이 외에도 통계청에서 발표한 2024년 하반기 지역별 고용조사에서 음성군은 지역활동인구가 11만6천명으로 전국 군 단위 1위를 차지했다.

또 △15세 이상 전체 고용률 72.4% △OECD기준 15세~64세 고용률 77.9% △청년고용률 51.7% △경제활동참가율 73.6%로 고용지표 4개 분야에서 도내 1위를 기록하는 등 두각을 나타내고 있다.

조병옥 군수는 “음성군은 어려운 여건 속에서도 꾸준히 성장하며 경제도시로 발돋움하고 있다”며 “앞으로도 지속적인 투자유치와 신성장산업 집중육성을 통해 일자리가 넘쳐나는 경제도시 음성군을 만들어 나가는 데 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
