【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=음성군은 교육발전특구 시범지역 우수사례 교육부장관 기관표창을 수상했다고 20일 밝혔다.

교육발전특구는 지자체, 교육청, 대학, 기업 등이 협력해 지역교육을 혁신하고, 지역인재 양성 및 정주를 종합적으로 지원하는 체제이다.

지난해 2월 음성·진천은 전국 유일의 특구 협업 모델로 교육발전특구 시범 선도지역으로 선정됐으며, 충북혁신도시를 중심으로 돌봄 등 부족한 인프라를 확충하고 내실 있는 교육 프로그램 발굴·추진을 목표로 다양한 교육사업을 펼쳐왔다.

특히 △혁신도시 내 거점형 늘봄센터 조성 △돌봄(늘봄)서비스 통합플랫폼 구축 △학부모와 자녀가 함께 참여하는 세대공감 교육특구 강좌 운영 △지역과 함께하는 늘봄놀이터 운영 등 지역의 경계를 허무는 음성·진천 공유 교육+늘봄(Educare)시스템 구축이 우수사례로 꼽혔다.

군은 올해에도 다양한 늘봄 프로그램 운영을 비롯해 맞춤형 학교 운영, 디지털 교육 강화, 지역산업 연계 프로그램 운영 등 약 20억원의 사업비를 투자해 양질의 교육환경을 조성하고 인재를 양성한다는 방침이다.

조병옥 군수는 “앞으로도 지역의 학생들이 충분한 역량을 발휘해 훌륭한 인재로 성장하고 지역에서 행복한 삶을 살 수 있도록 교육발전특구의 성공적인 추진을 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다. 

한편 음성군과 진천군은 지난해 10월 음성·진천 교육발전특구 비전을 발표하고 공유하는 비전 선포식을 개최해 교육발전특구의 혁신 모델 구축을 위한 양 군의 상호 협력을 다짐한 바 있다.
