【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=충북 영동군이 지역 경제 활성화와 일라이트 산업 육성을 위한 핵심 거점으로 자리 잡을 ‘영동일라이트 지식산업센터’를 공식 개관했다고 밝혔다.

 개관식은 20일 용산면 한곡백자전로 107-10에 위치한 영동일라이트 지식산업센터에서 열렸다. 이날 행사에는 △정영철 영동군수 △신현광 영동군의회 의장 △김수민 충청북도 정무부지사를 비롯해 일라이트 관련 기업 및 유관기관 관계자 등 100여명이 참석했다.

 행사는 내빈 소개를 시작으로 △경과보고 △감사패 수여 △기념사 및 축사 △테이프 커팅 △시설 관람 순으로 진행됐다. 

영동군은 이번 개관이 지역 일라이트 산업의 중심지로 도약하는 중요한 전환점이 될 것으로 기대하고 있다.

 영동일라이트 지식산업센터는 총사업비 230억원(국비 120억원·도비 30억원· 군비 80억원)이 투입됐으며, 2023년 2월 착공해 이달 준공됐다. 

 시설은 △지하 1층 △지상 4층 △연면적 6,338㎡ 규모로, 총 28호실의 공장시설과 지원시설을 갖추고 있으며 현재 입주 기업을 모집 중이다.

 센터 운영은 (재)충북테크노파크 한방천연물센터가 맡아 향후 3년간 △입주 기업 관리 및 지원 △시설 유지관리 △사업화 지원 등을 수행할 예정이다. 

 입주 대상 기업은 영동일라이트를 활용한 제조업 및 지식기반산업 등으로, 지역 산업 발전에 기여할 것으로 전망된다.

 정영철 영동군수는 기념사에서 “영동일라이트 지식산업센터가 지역 경제 활성화는 물론, 일라이트 산업 발전의 핵심 거점으로 자리 잡기를 기대한다”며 “입주 기업들이 성공적으로 정착하고 성장할 수 있도록 지속적인 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”고 밝혔다.

 한편 영동군은 센터가 일라이트 산업 및 중소기업 성장의 허브로 자리매김할 수 있도록 다각적인 지원책을 마련할 방침이다.
