 환경개선부담금은 저공해 인증차량을 제외한 2012년 9월 이전 출고된 경유차 소유자에게 환경개선비용 일부를 부담하는 제도로, 매년 2회(3월, 9월)에 걸쳐 후납제 방식으로 부과하고 있다.

 올해 1기분 부과대상 기간은 2024년 7월 1일부터 12월 31일까지 소유한 기간의 부담금이며, 기간 중 소유권이 취득 및 이전되었거나 폐차된 경우 등록원부 기준으로 일할 계산하여 부과된다.

 납부기한은 오는 3월 31일까지이며 납기를 초과하면 3% 가산금이 추가된다.
