【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=청주시 서문시장 상인회(회장 조억남)는 ‘2025년 3‧3데이 청주 삼겹살 축제’를 3월 2일부터 3일까지 이틀간 서문시장 삼겹살거리 일원에서 개최한다.

청주 삼겹살 축제는 지역 대표 음식인 삼겹살과 전국 유일 삼겹살 특화거리인 삼겹살거리를 알리기 위해 2012년부터 열리고 있다. 

올해 축제에서는 ‘도‧농 상생 한마당’을 주제로 지역 농가 및 한돈 브랜드와 함께 다양한 행사가 진행된다.

삼겹살거리 주차장에서는 한돈 장터가 열린다. 숨포크, 미소찬한우, 돈우, 대전충남양돈농협, 도드람양돈농협이 참여해, 삼겹살 2kg을 2만4천원에 할인 판매한다. 다만 1인당 2kg까지 구입할 수 있게 제한된다.

지역 농가들이 생산한 농산물을 저렴하게 구입할 수 있는 농산물 장터도 열려, 삼겹살과 곁들일 야채도 함께 만날 수 있다.

이외에도 삼겹살 무료 시식회, 다양한 공연, 경품행사 등 다양한 이벤트와 달고나 뽑기, 솜사탕 만들기, 삼삼노래방 등 시민 체험행사가 진행된다.

청주시 관계자는 “이번 축제가 위축된 지역경제에 활력을 주고 다양한 행사와 공연을 통해 시민들이 삼겹살 축제를 마음껏 즐기는 시간이 되기를 바란다”고 밝혔다.

청주 서문시장은 과거 청주 최고 상권으로 50여년 동안 명성을 누렸던 곳이다. 청주시는 전통시장을 살리고 삼겹살을 청주 대표 음식으로 특화하고 관광 명소화하기 위해, 2012년 서문시장을 삼겹살거리로 조성했다.
