작년 여름 옥천군은 특별재난지역으로 선포될 만큼 수해 피해가 막심했다.

군은 이에 따른 대응으로 작년 말 관내 지하차도 4개소(강청 지하차도, 소정 지하차도, 양수리 통로박스, 가화 지하차도)에 폐쇄회로 텔레비전(CCTV) 15대와 출입 차단기를 설치했다.

더불어 올해부터 해당 영상을 홈페이지에 실시간으로 송출해 여름철 호우로 인한 침수 피해를 즉각적으로 확인할 수 있어 군의 선제적 대응이 가능해졌으며 군민들 또한 출퇴근 시 도로 상황을 확인해 차량을 우회하는 등 교통 예방에 크게 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

황규철 옥천군수는“지하차도 폐쇄회로 텔레비전(CCTV) 스트리밍 서비스와 같은 스마트 사업들을 추가적으로 발굴해 군민들의 생명 및 재산 보호에 앞장서겠다”고 말했다.
