지난해부터 추진하고 있는 증평군의 대상포진 예방접종 무료 지원 사업은 작년에는 65세 이상 짝수년도생 어르신들을, 올해는 65세 이상 홀수년도생 어르신들을 대상으로 진행한다.

대상포진 무료 접종 희망자는 보건소 전화 문의 후 신분증을 지참해 보건소를 방문하면 된다. 

군 보건소 관계자는 “건강 취약계층에게 대상포진 예방접종을 지원해 경제적 부담을 해소하고, 대상포진 발병과 합병증으로부터 주민의 건강을 보호할 계획”이라고 말했다.

한편 대상포진은 노년층에서 많이 발생하는 질환으로, 치료 후에도 극심한 신경통과 함께 다양한 후유증이 남을 수 있어 발병 예방과 후유증 관리를 위해 예방접종이 권장되고 있다.
