아울러 군은 한파 취약계층을 위해 보은군 지역자율방재단 등 민간단체와 함께 예찰 활동 전개하고 경로당과 마을회관 등 63개소을 한파 쉼터로 지정해 한파에 취약한 노인들이 가까운 한파 쉼터에서 안전하고 따뜻하게 머물 수 있도록 읍·면 한파담당자가 쉼터 난방기 작동 여부, 적정 실내 온도 유지 상태 등을 상시 점검할 예정이다.
