【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=문화도시 충주시가 택견의 전승과 보급을 위해 2025년 시립 택견단(원장 부시장 김진석) 운영 계획을 밝혔다.

시는 정기 및 기획공연, 공모사업, 체험학교 등을 통해 택견의 대중화와 세계화를 도모하고 충주를 대표하는 문화유산으로 자리매김할 계획이다. 

시립 택견단은 시민과 방문객을 위해‘택견단 방문객 체험 프로그램’과‘충주명소 N 충주시립 택견단의 토요 상설 공연’을 정례화하며, 전국 주요 행사에서 택견 시범공연을 포함해 매년 40회 이상의 공연을 추진할 계획이다.

해외 활동에서도 적극 나선다.

미국, 폴란드, 베트남 등지에서의 초청 공연을 통해 택견의 전통을 알리는 문화 전도사 역할을 강화하며, 올해는 외교부 공모사업을 통해 택견의 글로컬 콘텐츠화를 추진 중이다. 

이를 통해 택견을 한국을 대표하는 전통문화 콘텐츠로 육성할 방침이다.

택견단은 충북과학기술혁신원이 주관하는 지역 특화 콘텐츠 개발사업에도 참여해 공연의 질적 향상을 꾀할 예정이다.

이를 통해 택견은 충주 대표 문화 행사인 우륵문화제와 연계되어, 충주의 중원문화 정체성을 강화하는 데 이바지할 계획이다.

특히, 택견 비보이 트레블러 크루(단장 이상민)와 특별 합동공연을 제작하여 택견의 해외공연 시 적극 활용하고 K-Culture에도 크게 기여할 예정이며, 택견의 세계화 추세에 맞춰 공연의 경쟁력을 키울 것이다. 

택견의 저변 확대를 위해 ‘택견 체험학교’와 ‘시민 택견학교’를 운영하고, 한국 택견협회와 협력해 ‘꿈나무 어린이 택견단’을 육성한다. 

더불어 SNS와 홍보 동영상을 활용해 택견의 대중적 관심을 높이고, 비정부 민간단체 반크와의 협력을 통해 세계화를 도모할 예정이다.

택견 관계자는 “유네스코 인류 무형유산이자 국가 무형유산 제76호인 택견의 우수성을 널리 알리고, 충주를 택견의 종주도시로 발전시키는 데 더욱 노력하겠다”고 전했다.
