【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=청주대학교(총장 김윤배)는 제21대 대한요트협회장에 산업공학과 출신의 채희상 후보가 당선됐다고 9일 밝혔다.

채 후보는 투표 없이 선거운영회의 자격 심사를 통해 당선됐다.

1982년 청주대학교 요트부를 시작으로 요트와 인연을 맺은 채희상 회장은 선수와 임원을 거치며 여전히 요트 대회에 참가하는 등 활발한 활동을 펼치고 있다.

청주대 산업공학과 출신인 채 회장은 2017년부터 지난해까지 대한요트협회 산하 한국레이저요트협회장을 지냈으며, 현재 반도체 생산설비 제조 전문업체인 ㈜밸류테크 대표이사를 맡고 있다.

채희상 회장은 “청주대에서 요트를 시작해 국가대표까지 하게 됐다”며 “대학 시절 맺은 요트와의 인연을 바탕으로 전문선수 경기력 향상과 생활체육 활성화에 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
