이날 간담회에는 △의용소방대 수난 구조 활동 지원 △의용소방대원의 단합·화합을 통한 사기 진작 등 운영 활성화 방안 등이 논의되었다.

추복성 의장은 “바쁜 생업 가운데도 재난 예방과 옥천군민의 안전을 위해 봉사하고 계신 의용소방대원들의 봉사와 희생에 깊은 감사를 드린다.”며 “앞으로도 의용소방대 활동에 있어 애로사항과 고충 등 다양한 의견을 충분히 수렴하여 개선할 부분에 대해서는 군의회 차원에서 적극 협력 하겠다.”고 말했다.
